Royal Lytham
Location
Royal Lytham St Annes is famous for hosting many important golf tournaments including several British Opens, the most memorable of which showcased Seve’s swashbuckling win in 1979.
Royal Lytham is the prefect location for golf with friends or for your company golf day. Royal Lytham is different from most Championship courses in that it is located in a suburban setting. This is a magnificent course, not conventionally beautiful but charming with a ruthless streak. It is a links course away from the sea but you are constantly reminded of the sea breeze and the effect it can have on your round. The course is not the longest course on the Open rota but woe betide any golfer who thinks it is a pushover. Remember Tiger Woods tried to blast his way around but the course came out on top. It has over 200 bunkers, surrounded by punishing rough. Each hole will impress you by its difficulty, and present you with many important decisions as you plot your way to a good score. There are relatively few holes where you can carry all the trouble, so thoughtful and accurate shots are a must if you want to avoid being punished.
You must play here if you get the chance.
