An £18m development programme is in full swing and due for completion early summer 2007. This will bring ten new luxury top floor suites and a fabulous new leisure club and spa. Award-winning international interior designer, Amanda Rosa, has been commissioned to create the interiors for ten new ultra-luxury suites on the hotel's top floor.
The Blue Tower Suite will be split level with two bedrooms and a bathroom situated on the lower floor and a spiral staircase leading to a second floor lounge. A further eight two bedroom and a one bedroom suite complete the configuration. The suites will have a contemporary feel, dressed in natural soothing tones of sage, cream and brown with warmth and depth created using a mix of silk, velvet and cotton textures.
The top floor will also include a boardroom, which will have a relaxed, non-corporate feel, incorporating colour schemes from the suites.
The popularity of The Club and Spa continues to grow. To meet this increasing demand, work began in January 2007 to make them bigger and better than ever.
Existing elements, such as the hair salon and barber, will find new homes within the hotel. Teenagers will have their own Games Room with interactive TV, Sony PlayStations, pool, tennis and football tables. The adjacent Juice Bar with its own jukebox means they needn't't venture far from their comfy sofas and beanbags. Smaller children will enjoy an improved Playroom with its own sand pit, water area, soft area and storytelling corner.
The restaurant will become Deseo, a lively and fun 'Mediterranean Food Market' with tempting aromas from various food stations which change throughout the day. Seating will be a mixture of high tables, banquette seating and leather chairs.
This part of the development is due to be unveiled in summer 2007, when the redevelopment of The Spa will begin, doubling the number of treatment rooms to 20. There will also be new zones such as Heat Experiences and the Vitality Pool. The design and lighting have been carefully planned to create the perfect place to unwind. The new Spa will open in January 2008 - in the meantime, guests will still be able to enjoy all their favourite treatments in another area of the hotel.
