Oct 2007 - The Vale Resort, Wales' leading 4 star independent hotel, golf and spa resort is celebrating, after claiming the top spot and “UK club of the year” at a prestigious fitness industry awards ceremony, which took place in Birmingham in Oct 2007. Fighting off strong competition from the fitness industry's elite across the whole of the UK, the Resort's Health & Racquets Club claimed the sought after title - dubbed the Oscars of the fitness world.
The rigorous assessment included a member's satisfaction questionnaire and was followed by a whole day of on-site judging at the club, which amongst other facilities, boasts a state-of-the art gym – complete with the very latest computer-aided fitness equipment - luxury 20 metre indoor pool and various fitness studios offering a variety of classes, as well as squash & tennis courts, sauna, steam rooms and whirlpool bath.
June 2007 - The Vale Hotel, Golf and Spa Resort has become the only golfing institution in Wales to install GASP Systems Achiever Video Coaching. GASP, used by Sky Sports, is the most flexible, state-of-the-art video coaching system in Europe and will further enhance the facilities and reputation of the Vale Resort as a leading investor in golf in the UK.
The concept of the GASP System is to provide the instructor the ability to pin-point errors in pupils' techniques, to have the ability to show and compare pupils' actions and to illustrate improvement. Digital video will provide the professional coaches at the Vale Resort with the ability to offer a comprehensive analysis of every aspect of a golfer's game, from evaluating motion to detailed instruction on grip, stance and swing technique.
